Below you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about our services.

What is a Head Spa?

A head spa is a relaxing and therapeutic scalp treatment that deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes your scalp. Each session includes massage, essential oils, and professional techniques designed to improve scalp health, encourage hair growth, and relieve stress.

What should I do before my appointment?

Arrive with dry and detangled hair.  Head spas are recommended 48 hours before your next color or chemical appointment to avoid any scalp reactions. If your hair has any recent color or keratin treatments, please wait about 5 days before getting a head spa, this reduces the possibility of fading or reaction to the treatment.

How long does a Head Spa session take?

Depending on your service, a Head Spa at Alpha Blade lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. Each experience is personalized to your scalp’s needs, including oil therapy, exfoliation, detox, and MicroMist hydration.

How often should I get a Head Spa treatment?

Most clients visit every 4–6 weeks to keep their scalp balanced, minimize buildup, and maintain healthy hair growth.

Do you offer scalp treatments for hair loss or thinning?

Yes! Our Scalp Renewal treatment targets thinning hair and scalp aging. It combines specialized hair loss products and MicroMist therapy to stimulate circulation and strengthen hair follicles.

Can I book a Head Spa appointment online?

Absolutely. You can book your Head Spa session online anytime at alphabladehair.com — spots fill up fast, so we recommend reserving early.

What to do when I arrive?

My suite located in Salons on Chisolms (next to Eskimo Hut). Please arrive only as early as 5 mins before your scheduled appointment.  Please text "here" when you arrive and await reply for further instructions and we'll get you in. There are benches in the hallway where you can sit, and if you have any questions, just message me and I'll be happy to help

Can my friend/kid join or hangout at the same time?

Due to our intimate space, we can only allow one client in the suite at a time. Multiple appointments would need to be back to back, or scheduled in different days/times.  We are also unable to accommodate couples sessions at the moment. This will also ensure that the room can be properly prepared and sanitized for the next appointment.

Is a blowdry and style (blowout) included?

Our head spas are designed to rehabilitate the scalp and rejuvenate the hair.  A courtesy drying will be provided, however a blowout will be an additional service and must be added to the appointment.

Are head spas good for curls or textured hair?

Absolutely! I really recommend a head spa especially for curly and textured hair.  Head spas deep cleans a detoxifies minerals and build up from the hair that may prevent it from absorbing and keeping moisture.  Since curls and texture thrive in moisture, a head spa will revive and maintain the health of curls.

I have extensions/braids, can I get a head spa?

Our signature head spa focuses on the scalp, and our signature oils can make your install slip or weaken bonds, so we DO NOT recommend any installed hair extensions on the hair.  We want to have full access to the scalp, so braids would also need to be removed.  However, it is recommended that you get a head spa in between installs and removals as the benefits of strengthening the hair, rejuvenating the scalp, and encouraging hair growth can be beneficial to your hair health.

Are your ingredients safe for expecting mothers?

Our Head Spa uses scalp formulated vegan and organic ingredients. It is safe for pregnant and expecting mothers.  Some individuals may have sensitivities to certain herbs and plants, it is best to consult with your physician for individual results vary.
